This has to be amother as I am beyond embarrassed.
My oven hasn't been self cleaned in about five years or so. I know, its disgusting. I know I need to clean inside of the door first. I am going to put a baking soda/water paste on it overnight on motzai shabbos and then clean the door on sunday. Do I need to clean or wipe down anything before I self clean? Is it like too dirty to selfclean, can it start a fire?

If it is too dirty it can most certainly catch on fire. You need to wipe it out before you self clean it if it is that dirty.

It doesn't have like caked on dirt. If something ever spills I wipe it up asap.
Is wiping it down with a wet rag sufficient?

I don't think you have to do anything but your oven might break. even once a year isn't enough.
