Hi, I am looking for a tasty meat ball recipe. Something rich and spicy.... my cookbook doesn't have any recipes and want to make it tonight.
Thanks

I just tried a morrocan meatball recipe from the new cookbook The At Home Gourmet by Sarah Lasry. Its made with lamb, and beef and has very interesting spices. it was yum!

Are you looking for a recipe for the meat or for a sauce?
These can be spicy depending on what kind of salsa you use! Sauce is 1 can of jellied cranberries and 1 and 3/4 cup salsa. Melt cranberries...add salsa...and voila - meatball sauce :-) If you need to sweeten it a bit you can add some brown sugar.

If you want to try something a little different that is definitely rich and spicy - I make this Moroccan Beef Stir Fry that is so simple and delicious.
1 lb. ground beef
1 red pepper, sliced in thin slices
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp EACH ground ginger, cumin and cinnamon
1/4 tsp EACH salt, pepper and hot pepper flakes
1 can (28oz/796 ml) diced tomatoes
3/4 cup (175ml) sliced green olives
1/3 cup (75ml) toasted pine nuts (optional)
1. Cook ground beef and onion, pepper and garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes, breaking beef into small chunks with back of spoon, until beef is browned.
2. Stir in seasonings and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Stir in tomatoes and bring to boil.
3. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 5-10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in olives; heat through. Serve garnished with pine nuts (if desired).
You can serve with rice, pasta or couscous!

ra_mom's honey-garlic meatballs are what you're looking for and they're really great.
I made them for Sukkos after making the same recipe for many years (that my family didn't want me to change) and they loved them.

1 can tomato sauce with mushrooms or just tomato sauce
mix together and place in bottom of pot
1-2 lb. chopped meat
1 egg
1/2 cup matzah meal
1/4 cup ketchup
garlic powder and minced onion to taste
mix up the meat mixture and drop into tomato/cranberry sauce in the pot and simmer for two hours. good for pesach too!
