don't read this and think I'm looney. my kids got an orbie (basically this little ball that grows in water and then splits to have a ""baby") and all I see was a glass of water, dumped it out, and threw out the cup. luckily the orbie was in the sink.whew, crisis averted.

Coulda been worse. There could have been a bug in the cup and you could have chug-a-lugged a mouthful.

OMG, this post cracked me up!
I did the same a few months ago. Dd was hysterical. I couldn't calm her down.
Then I found it in the sink drain

The 99 cent store sells them, about 50 pieces for 99 cents.
Just so you know, they also come in clear. In water, the clear one is invisible; so the next time you drink a cup of water and you feel something slimy rolling down your throat...

LOL, I just did this on erev shabbos and spent the whole afternoon explaining to parents at the park why my kids are not talking to me (hence amother...).
I was not so lucky as to find the orbie(s) that went down the drain. They died a traumatic death in the garbage disposal and I think my 5 year old DD is going to be in therapy for life.
What did I ever do to the counselors at day camp that they send this stuff home? DS came home with a kazoo this week, too. Who gives a 3 year old a kazoo?

I can top that. One day my grandmother walked into the kitchen and said "Who left all this dirty water in the mixing bowl?" and dumped it down the sink.
My mom walked into the room, and said "Where are the goldfish? I was just cleaning out their tank!"
