My son has so much trouble falling asleep because his pillow is not cold. Can anyone recommend a stay cool pillow? Are there stay cool sheets? He searches for something cold to touch as he's falling asleep. He's constantly flipping his pillow over, etc. Getting him to sleep each night is sooo stressful. Any suggestions?

You just have to keep the room temperature cool.

Yes. Keep the room cool. I have sensory issues and cannot sleep unless the room is very cool.
Great for saving money on heat in the winter. Not so much in the summer.

Also I find 100% cotton sheets are best for staying cool but NEVER flannel.

I occasionally throw an ice pack (a flexible one!) inside the pillowcase...

I have the same problem ... but haven't invested in a stay cool pillow ... who thought of such a great invention

can you check consumer reports to see which one's really work and are worthwhile to purchase ?

also in the interim get a soft freezer blue ice and wrap it in a towel

Thanks all. I do use cotton sheets and keep the room way colder than I would like - his toes are freezing when he wakes (obviously he doesn't keep his covers on).

I did give him an ice pack to hold tonight, but 1. He kept putting it on his chest. Can that be safe or will it make him sick? 2. He still had soo much trouble falling asleep (but at least he didn't complain that he doesn't have anything cold to hold on to).
Any other suggestions?

you should always wrap the ice pack ... you don't need him getting frostbite

I actually used one of those boo boo buddies, but yes, it started off being wrapped.

Thanks. Have you used it? I think I remember reading mixed reviews.

I just turn the pillow over if it gets too warm.
But the room has to be cool in the first place.
My ds hates flannel linen for this reason - I only get crisp cotton.

What about a fan blowing at his head that`s the only way mine will sleep outher wise always complaing and in the winter she needs 3 blakets so we can never win at bed time but when we get it right she falls right asleep
