My 10 yr old son is so hoarse for a few weeks already. I kept thinking it will pass, maybe it's from exhaustion from summer activities in school.
But lately I'm getting nervous. It's been too long. Should I be concerned? Is it important to call my ped?

Maybe he developed vocal nodules..if your concerned take him to an ENT, My son had them he had to get voice therapy bh they are much smaller now.

It could also be seasonal allergies. A posst-nasal drip can cause throat irritation and hoarseness.

Definitely have it checked out. It could be any of these issues, none of which are by any means dire but can and should be treated.

Probably nodules. Second taking him to ENT. Shouting at camp does make it worse but whispering is also very stressful to the voice box. The reason to go to Dr is to make sure problem is not polyps which might need to e removed.
