According to Rabbi Black Sheep, if you hold you are allowed to wash your hair on chil hamoed, then you are allowed to wash your sheitel as well.

I asked my husband this yesterday because I also felt like you, he said that it should be considered like clothing so if you need ut for yom tov it is mutar to wash it. But maybe ask your rav for his shitta
