I love the name Michal and am expecting.
The thing is, our other kids all have the English version of their name on legal documents. Eg Chaya is Eva, Rachel for Rahel, Daniel and not Donniel, you get the idea. This is really important for me because my Hebrew name is my legal name and people constantly mispronounce it, and I hate it.
What do I do for Michal?
I don't like Michelle, and I have a niece named Mikayla, which I'd love, maybe with different spelling.
Any suggestions?

Mia, Micki, Misha, Midge, Makayla, Mckenzie (stretching it maybe in terms of being close to the name Michal)

I have heard of Mikol before.. Makayla is pretty.
But Michal is such a beautiful name. I would have probably just kept it as is. Maybe spell it Mikal

I had a friend from EY who was worried that Americans wouldn't be able to pronounce her name when she came to the US and I think she was thinking seriously of Mia as an English version. As far as I know, she still goes by Michal. What about Mimi? Too cutesy?

I thought of Michèle, Micheline, Michelle... all classics.
Mikayla looks odd to me.

I like what people have suggested above; add to the list Marcelle.

I've known two girls named Micole, which I always thought was their English name. It comes from Hebrew, just like Michal, except if you google it you'll see all types of people with the name so it must be accepted as an English name. Pronounced like Nicole but with an M.

I love Michaela or Micaela. Mia, Macy, Mika, Marley, Mila - one of those might work. I'd try to keep the initial M, and at least one of the consonant sounds (c or l) from the Hebrew name.

Micol is actually the Italian form. I have a few acquaintances whose Jewish name is Micol. I LOVE it.
