I went shopping already and im not going back out!
I want to make a soup...have minimal vegetables.
an onion
a carrot
and I have barley
help me out here

I use a can of diced tomatoes, onion, barley, carrot, salt, pepper, garlic powder/onion powder. throw in a piece of chicken or some chopped up hot dogs.

Saute onion (and celery if you have). Add carrot and saute a few more min.
Little bit of Mushroom soup mix
Barley
2 Can of mushrooms or fresh
Salt and pepper to taste

Osem powder. Have a few of them around.
Barley is a wonderful food by itself, as a side dish, with little seasoning.

A spoon or so of soy sauce (go light on the salt otherwise) can give oomph.
And don't forget the stone
