I have a synthetic sheitel which gets tangled and knotty right away.
any tips on how to prevent this?

no tis not!!! I have several synthetic sheitels and others in the past and none of them were ever knotty or tangled. I even have one that I dont even have to brush ever, even after I wash it, I just do once in a while bc I feel weird never brushing it.

Or you can cut it. Oil conditioner detangler could work too I guess

Spray regular Pantene Pro V Light Conditioner generously on the knotty area. Then gently comb through (or use a small vent brush). This particular product is the best I've ever used.
