Hello,

As I'm emptying out my freezer I have come across 2 9" pastry pie shells. Any ideas for easy dessert recipes I can use them for.

Thanks

I don't know of any desserts, but what about a kisch or something like that?

My favourite - if you can get them - mix frozen cherries with some lemon juice, sugar (how much depends on whether you use sour or sweet and how sweet you like pie) and a tpsb of cornflour. Toss and use the second base to cover - either put the whole thing on top or cut out strips and make a criss cross pattern.

You can make apple pie - slice apples and cook with a little sugar till soft. Mix the liquid with some cornflour. Cover as above.

Or - if you want to use each crust separately and make 2 pies, you can sprinkle a streusel topping on top instead of covering with the second base.
For savory dishes - as Ariella said, these are also great for an easy quiche.
I've also used these bases for broccoli kugel and for sweet potato pie.

Ditto! But mine has been in my cabinet...does it go bad/stale?

Recipe for pumkin/swt potato pie? Which is preferable? Maybe easy dessert recipe instead?
