Please help, I want to break up the long shabbos day . I'm going to invest in many toys and invite the neighborhood toddlers to ages 2-5 to play. What are your favorite child approved toys that are great for shabbos ? Thank you !

My ds 2.5 loves his parking garage with tons of cars. My dd 3.5 likes to play dress up with high heels and jewelery. They both love clics and blocks. Also love reading books to themselves and each other

If you have room...A mini trampoline. A fold-up tent. A kitchen set with lots of dolls and foods (although be prepared for a mess...)

magnatiles and Magformers- hands down.
my 1 year old also loves those.

my DD3, LOVES puzzles. (esp if her baby sister is sleeping and she can do it on the floor) but she also loves anything with a lot of little pieces.

Magnatiles & kitchen play stuff. Seriously, there are a ton of toys in my house (way too many if you ask me), and 98% of the kids that come here play with the kitchen or the magnatiles. The magna tiles even entertain the preteen/teen crowd as well as the toddlers. My kids would much rather play with magnatiles than clics.

I was going to say play dough, but not for Shabbos.

Play dishes/utensils/food, with dolls to feed/dress. Somehow my 3 year old never seems to tire of this. Add a doll stroller/bottle/blanket, and you're set for the day.

Duplo - another huge hit. Both 1.5 year old and 3.5 year old play with them almost endlessly. They tire of them sometimes but after a week or two they bring them out again and it's newly exciting again. We recently got an additional set with some dollhouse-like pieces and that got them super re-interested in it, now it covers their pretend-play needs in addition to building/creating.

Books for when they need a calm break from playing.

I'm not sure whether you're crazy or awesome for inviting all the neighborhood toddlers/preschoolers to spend Shabbos afternoon by you! What motivated you to do this?

I keep the magnatiles in the closet and take it out friday night after lecht benching. They play with it for a while- mitzvah kinder go along with it. They love dolls, dressing them, doll accessories, and doll carriages. They also play with dishes and food- making picnics many times. They like simple games like brachos lotto and cute memory games.
