Help! Why does my challah keeping looking cracked on the top or sometimes on the side. I use a bread machine e to make the dough( yes, its cheating). I braid the dough, let it rise, egg wash it. put in the oven to bake and poof its cracked on top. like someone pulled the dough out from under the nice browning on top, but it is cooked through. Advice please

I think that happens when you let the dough rise too long.
