Been wondering for a while, and the Bracha Acharona post finally got me to post, even tho I'm embarrassed not to remember.
I seen to recall learning an order of making brachos- example shehakol is last ( don't remember the exact order). But what if I have chicken, fish, etc and also some noodles as a side . Mezonos should be said first, but isn't the main dish more impt?! So do I say shehakol first?
Can anyone clarify the rules of brachos order. Thank you?

Hagufen
Heatz
Haduma
Shehakol

hagefen is to drinks as hamotzie is to bread - no need for more brochos
mezonos - cakes pastas - think as sustenance so important
ha'etz - trees/high up [if more than one fruit - say on 7 minim first]
ha'adama - ground/low down
shehakol - everything else
if you think of those as hints it will make sense when remembering

I think there are different opinions as to whether you make the bracha first on the more important food or first on the food that would typically come first according to the usual order. Why don't you ask your dh how he holds?
