I'm looking into starting a small business.

This business isn't necessarily selling actual goods- so there wouldn't really be any inventory to purchase or space to rent for at least the beginning stages of the business.

My question is- after I write up a business plan- what would be my next step?

What is the job of a business consultant?
Who would be able to guide me re marketing? Advertising?

I'm really looking for someone to guide me..look over my business plans and help me take off...

Thanks for reading...

Before you invest in a consultant, I would recommend that you read, read, read.

There is lots of information out there for an entrepreneur, and you should start off as savvy as you can be, even if you outsource to experts or hire them to help- you can be an educated consumer.

Also, here are some resources to start.

What state are you in? Oftentimes there are centers devoted to small business coaching, some of them even catered especially to women.

Thanks Sherri for your response

When you say "read read" do you mean anything specific? Or just in general like things on internet...google etc. ?

Entrepreneurship is quite a fad these days, so there is a ton of literature and other media about it. In addition to what everyone else mentioned, you might want to look into online education. There are a few great courses that I came across as I browsed Coursera, Udacity, EdX, Itunes U etc. and even reading the reviews was very educational. At least a couple of them are free.
