We were just in israel and rented a gorgeous new apartment. Beautiful, clean, airy, great price. Location was amazing, right on malchei yisroel by geula. Pm me for contact info.

athomeinisrael doesn't seem to have anything that is more like geulah area or strauss, any other ideas?

I have never stayed in Geula, but I have had good experiences with listings I found on vrbo.com.

I used to work for one of the places that rents apartments to tourists...

tip: contact as many of the places as you can because they will work with each other to rent you one from a different group -- and you just end up paying more as they each take a cut on it.

www.airbnb.com is a great site.. it will put your in touch with the apartment owners directly, not a realtor or an agency, which probably makes it more expensive.

My SIL goes through them and has always found great rentals.

It was very cool staying in the heart of meah shearim. Would definitely stay there again. Huge, huge private courtyard and nice apartment.
