Hi! I was asked to translate the following sentence into proper English:
"Is there an INYAN for someone to keep this particular mitzva?"
How in the world do you say "inyan" in English?!

I think in this particular sentence inyan should be translated to reason.
"Is there a reason to keep this particular mitzva?"

I would say it's more like "is there a president" (don't know how to spell it)

president = a leader of a country

precedent = principle or rule established
