We just celebrated our anniversary and I'm due in a few weeks. DH asked me what I would want for a gift. I couldn't really think of anything, but I know from past experience that I must have a gift. I guess it's my love language. I would rather tell DH clearly what it is that I want than to rely on him zeroing in on the right thing. (sweet dreams for that to ever happen LOL ) Can you give me ideas of what you ever received that you enjoyed? If it's jewelry, specify what kind.

I can understand your need for a gift and your dh does want to get you one. But you yourself can't think of anything!! We can all give you ideas, plenty but...if you can't think of anything then you either a: have it already or b: don't need it or c: don't want it.
Why don't you ask your dh to hold it off until you need/want something, instead of spending money on anything 'just because' you need a gift??

I am not sure where you live,Op.
But for me the gift I loved most was a day at a beautiful Spa.
Pampered with massages, facials mani and pedi. Best present ever. There are beautiful spas in many hotels and you get to schedule it whenever works for you.
Before or after the baby comes .
I have gotten jewelery for my other births and I still liked the spa better.

We had our first DS right before our first anniversary. I know the usual baby gift is some sort of jewelry, but I asked my DH for a good quality glider chair. I don't regret it for a second! It makes nursing at night a pleasure, and it's so far lasted us through to our third baby boy Smile
The spa idea sounds nice though Smile

I asked for a diamond wedding band- which I love because when I look at it, I think of my daughter and when I look at my engagement ring, I think of my husband. And I still wear my original wedding band, so the set of three represents our family Very Happy
