There is a typical broccoli salad that I enjoy by every simchah - I thinks it's just broccolli, maybe nuts with a heavy dressing...

Anyone know what I am talking?? If yes, do you have the recipe.

THANKS!!!

The one I make has broccoli, craisins, and cashew pieces.

The dressing is mayo., red wine vinegar, and sugar.

Is this the recipe you are looking for? If so, I can be more specific with amounts.

I do a dressing of two tbsp sugar, half a cup mayo, a quarter cup of vinegar, salt and pepper to taste. I put in one bag of broccoli, craisins, slivered almonds or cashews and one diced red onion. Its delicious!

I make this salad a lot. I usually use frozen broccoli. put it straight from the freezer into a strainer and pour a full kettle of boiling water over it. this reduces the freezer taste and cooks it up al dente.

Ooooh, I'd love to make it. I'm too cheap though. One bag of broccoli (680 grams) costs over 30 shekels here (almost 10 dollars). Sheesh.

I've never seen or tried it before using frozen. I can imagine there's a difference there in taste/texture. I'll have to try that sometime to compare.
