Two seders… I wouldn’t do it, but it’s true that some send the kids to bed before seder or in the beginning. It doesn’t sit so right with me because pessach is alllllll about kids and transmission. :/

Some people do say the Pessach story quickly and do the songs, like a short kiddy seder, before the real one, kidless. In my family kids were allowed to leave the table and go play and come back for the singing (or not? LOL). I also remember some “shortened” sedarim Wink

In any case the psychoanalyzing is crazy shock

Well as we started really late oldest dd suggested that we move up the songs as the kids are really small and that way they can at least sing....so when we got to Ma nishtana dh said "ok everyone sing" and we did dayyenu and a bit of chag gadya for the kids (by then it was around 10) and...except for the oldest they ended up all staying up to the bitter end and singing everything twice! But it worked out great.

OP, you deserve a medal as does your dh for keeping your cool. Bad bad guests...tactless. If you are lucky you won't have them again.

Greenie, this is too funny!
"personally I was busy psychoanalyzing my own children & thought I would rename the 4 children in the haggada with diagnoses"

As far as OP's armchair parents/psychoanalysts, I'm at a loss as to how you could have taken control of their rude behavior in your own home. I think this is a challenge that I'd have failed to rise to well.

Next decade in their homes, with their perfect angel-kids.

DH took my child to the nearest open supermarket and she kept saying : we NEED yummy blue juice !!! (we have some more bartenura at home )

She then said I want more seders Smile
