Event Details:
Everyone wants to proactively care for their own health as well as that of their family. Did you know that you can care for your future children's health today? Genetic screening is your way to protect the health of your child. Genetic diseases like Tay Sachs, Cystic Fibrosis, Fragile X, and Sickle Cell are more common than you think. In fact, 1 in 25 individuals carries a genetic mutation for Cystic Fibrosis. Genetic testing makes it possible for us to anticipate and avoid passing on such genetic mutations and is recommended to anyone who is considering conception now or in the future.
New York Fertility Services is teaming up with Good Start Genetics to offer an open genetic testing day to all individuals of reproductive age and of any ethnicity. We will be offering comprehensive mutation screening for the most prevalent and serious disorders including those most common to your ethnic background. All costs not covered by your insurance plan will be paid for by a private donor. Please join us for this very special opportunity to proactively care for your and your future family's health!
Dr. Ilana Ressler, Reproductive Endocrinologist, will be offering free mini consultations for anyone interested in learning about fertility treatments and their options.
Good Start Genetics will have a genetic counselor available to answer any specific questions about genetic testing or what results of testing can mean.

Ack! I wish we could mail in a sample kit. I need to get DD tested for Fragile X (we're pretty sure she has it, but we don't have absolute confirmation.)
