My insurance will subsidize the cost of a pump, but only these specific ones. Anyone have experiance with any of the following?
Hygeia Q Breast Pump with Tote Bag
Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump Shoulder Strap Bag
Medela Advanced Personal Double Pump
Limerick PJ’s Bliss Electric Breast Pump
TIA

my lactation consultant is a HUGE fan of the Hygeia
I personally have used medela and ameda. medela is an open pump system and should NOT be shared but had a stronger motor than the ameda.

Ameda and Medela both go up to 250 mmHg in suction, while the Hygeia goes to 240. Will it make a difference for you? Hard to know.
Hygeia and Ameda are closed systems which is better hygienically.
Limerick is also closed system with 250 mmHg and the few LCs on my listserv who have experience rave about it as similar to a hospital grade pump but lighter weight (1.5 lbs) -- still heavier than Ameda/Medelas which are around 1 lb. I have yet to review it myself though.

What can anyone tell me about Hygeia?
I was told it's hospital grade, and the best, since Medela is an open system, Hygeia is better.
Is this true?

Yes, Hygeia is considered "safer" than an open systemed Medela, however different bodies respond to different pumps better so it's hard to say there is one "best".

I have the hygenia and I absolutely love it! Works great... My Medela broke after 2 years and it was too costly too repair.

TIA | I have used both the medela and ameda, simultaneously, for about a year (one at work, one at home).
Go with the medela.
