We went out to a sub-style store last night and my son had a "honey beef" sandwich. He LOVED it. He is possibly the world's pickiest eater. Anyone have any idea how to re-create that taste? I'd love to try it two ways: maybe make a "honey marinated" roast of some sort, OR use roast beef from the deli but make a honey sauce of some sort.
This particular "honey beef" tasted like the meat was cured that way somehow. Like, it didn't seem to be a sauce.
Any ideas?

can you be a bit more specific, was the beef slow cooked and shredded, or sliced thin?
