I am sitting here and writing thank you cards to my kids teachers.
My question is how should I sign my name?
I still havent gotten used to being mrs. Ploni
I always sign notes with my signature which is my first name and last name.
Is it not appropriate to sign my first name?
The teachers always call me mrs. Ploni if they need to and calling me by my first name would be very weird.
On the other hand they would call my dh by his first name and I would like to sign both our names.
Should I do Mr. and Mrs. Ploni?
Shmuly and Shprintzy Ploni?
Mrs and Mrs S. Ploni?
Please help.

One more thing.
One of my kids teachers this year was really not great. I cant think of anything to write. My son had a terrible year.
Is there anything really generic I can write to him?

I'm unclear why they're on a first name basis with your husband. But why don't you sign S. Ploni or Mrs. Shprintzi Ploni?

Because they are either friends with my dh or old enough that they used to teach my dh when he was a child himself!

Why are you writing a thank you card to a teacher you do not want to thank?
And I would write Shmuly and Shprintzy Ploni. Doesn't matter that they never call you that.

It really doesn't matter. Don't think so much into it- the teachers certainly won't. They're all fine.

It's all good.
A generic thank you goes something like this: "Thank you." or "Thank you for all the effort you put into teaching our Shmelkie this year. Have a wonderful summer."
That is mighty kind of you to put your time and energy into composing a card for a teacher you feel gave your kid a "terrible" year. My impression has been that usually when a kid has had a terrible year, the teacher didn't find them all that easy either - but still, it's very sad.

I signed Chaim and Rivky Cohen
That's how I sign all of our correspondence

Why are you thanking teachers who did a bad job?
I would say definitely sign with first names.

You should always sign your name as Mrs. Ploni. Only in the Yiddish world (and the lower class secular world) do people introduce themselves as Mrs. Ploni.
