My husband works for a nursing home and earns 60,000 a year.

I am an occupational therapist working part time and I earn 30,000 a year.

We have 3 kids for a combined 15,000 in babysitting and school.

Rent is 2300 a month.

The loan payment for my occupational therapy school is 300/month.

We're able to cover our bills and save a little bit for the future but we're nowhere near buying a house.

Are we rich or poor?

Wealth is in the eye of the beholder. I certainly don't feel poor, and our combined salary is less than yours. But I am sure that the amother who posted in the other thread who make $25k/mo would consider your salary to be quite inadequate!

Why is it important for us to tell you what we think? If you are comfortable and happy, great. If not, and you want to change it, consider re-budgeting and trying to increase your income.

Do you pay your schooling in full? If not, you are poor

Do you feel rich or poor? And why is it either/or? There's a whole spectrum in between from "very comfortable" to "just getting by" and everything in between.

My dh and I both work full time (as in 7/9-6!!) and we make less than you. So to me, yes you are richER.
I would say if you cover all costs without holding your breath each month and have some put away in savings, whether it is enough to buy a house (in BP you have to be wealthy to do that) then you are comfortable.
