I dyed a shell a deep color- I was nervous because it was such a weird shade but it came out perfectly! She was so nice to work with. The shell that you need has dyable thread- if you use a different shell then the thread by the kneck and arms wont dye. When you call, ask for the store name- The shell she recommends is sold at at a store on coney. Sorry I can at remember it exactly I think it's called klothes kloset? (Both with k) make sure to try on the shell because it has a bit of a different fit then standard shells. Another option is to buy a regular shell and have the thread switched to dyable thread by a seamstress/cleaners. That is more expensive though. But if you are particular about shells and comfort, that might be better for you. Good luck!
