At my sons annual well check-up doctor visit, the pediatrician noticed something that needed to be checked out by a specialist in that field. I followed up and took my son (almost 2) to a doctor who deals with that issue. This doctor didn't make a big deal and gave me a prescription for a medium strength medication for him. My son was also uncooperative and I feel the doctor didn't get a full diagnosis and gave me a prescription because he gave up on trying to get my son to sit still (he's petrified of doctors). Because I was unsure, I took him to a second doctor in Manhattan who is supposed to be better in this field. The second doctor, who got a better look at my son because he was more cooperative, told me he has a condition and gave me a much stronger medicine for him. Now that I have the medicine I'm scared to give it to him. Would it be crazy for me to take him to a third doctor if I don't fully trust the first two? I don't just want to start dosing my son on something that could potentially damage him if it's not necessary. What would you do?

Go for another opinion, and try to be more prepared so that your son is in a better state.

Speak to his pediatrician. Go to the very top specialist and explain the conflicting diagnoses.
I was once in a situation where one doc said operate and you will walk with a limp, another Dr said don't operate and you will walk with a limp, a third said operate and you will face long complications and have months long recovery and possibly have trouble walking forever.
The last Dr told me that he is a great surgeon and I will be fine. He will guarantee me no limp. I can now walk in heels. I went to the very best surgeon in the world for my matter. I spoke to my Dr who agreed.
