Has anyone been to Mackinac Island? I've heard it's beautiful, and it's within driving distance but I don't know if it's worth it to go. It would be just me and DH for a couple days. Anyone have experience there?

Yes, it is supposed to be beautiful. Do you have to bring your own food? Would that make it less of a vaca for you?

Mackinac Island is simply beautiful. My dh and I usually visit once a year (over the last 20 years). You do need to bring your own food though, I believe that it is well worth the trouble.

What is there to do there, and what are the main attractions? What's the best airport to fly into to get there? Is there anything else in the area to combine with it as part of a larger vacation?
