Looking for games/toys for a child who is learning about the sounds that letters make and maybe even for games that help teach early reading skills.

Ideas?

You can make your own match-it style games. One set has letters the other pictures. Start with consonants. Start with 3 or 4 pairs and increase as they master. If you allow your kids to play on the computer. There are many phonics based games.
My favorite for 3-6 yrs old Starfall.com
