I think this is more a hashkafa than halacha question.
So a good friend I haven't seen in a while (we're both super busy working mothers) has a hole in her schedule this week at the same time I have one (which NEVER happens, our hours just rarely coincide.) and she wants to go out to lunch.
Is this OK during the 9 days? I have a feeling it's not explicit halacha, but is it not in keeping with a week of mourning? Especially with the matzav in Eretz Yisroel.
What would you do?

Maybe you can go for a walk together instead (burns calories too!), or meet up for coffee at someone's house (less celebratory).
Bottom line is, if you feel it's inappropriate, then for you it is. If it doesn't bother you, I guess it's ok.
