I am expecting b"h (!!!!) and it is my first. I got married later in life and with the help of Hashem (and an amazing husband) have overcome many health related issues to get to where I am now.

I do not know if we are having a boy or girl, but I have a name picked out if it is a boy. I am lost when it comes to girl names. I would name after my Grandmother (a"h) who we were all very close with, but she has the same name as my Mother in law. I have a relative who died without having children, and generally had a very hard life but I would want to add a name to hers, he name was Chava.

Please submit your suggestions that go nicely with Chava or just any really nice meaningful (!) girls name.

Thank you all so much!

Chava Chaya (alive)
Chava itself is from a root life though.
Chava Bracha
Chava + a name of joy, or of plentyful
Chava Bubba (amuletic name to become a grandmother, Genana/Gnendel is the same)
Chava Tova (so her life is good)?

Chava goes well with just about any name. Chava Leah is a very popular combo. I know Chavas, Chava Brachas, Chava Rivkas, Chava Tilas, Esther Chavas, etc etc.

Honestly I dont like the name chava so much and would definitely not add another"ch" sound to it.
Ayala Chava, Chava neimah, avigayil chava...

When we decided to add a name to a family name, we were told to add an adjective rather than another person's name. An adjective thats a tribute to the deceased is nice. We did Noam because the person was very sweet and peaceful.

Otherwise a meaningful name would be tehilla, odaya, ahuva, guila, aliza, bracha...any name really that shows gratitude or happiness for the blessing you were zoche to!

Actually mu number #1 choice was Chava Naima but my husband veto-ed it Sad

I don't love the name Chava either and would definitely only call by the other name.

Slight problem is my mother and mother in law bith have very common (many that were listed) names.

I like more "modern" hebrew names, like Tehilla etc. but not too "modern" like Eliana.

Thanks everyone for your help and well wishes!!!

We have a Chava Aliza.

Another choice for us would have been Na'ama Chava.
