Hi, does anyone know if it's true you need 6months validity left on your passport when you visit Israel? We're planning to visit for Succos an my passport expires in February so is it going to be a problem? Also does anyone know if they'll just add 10 years from the original expiry date or 10 years starts from the date of (new passport) issue? TIA

I believe it's true that you cannot travel to Israel with a passport which expires within 6 mo.
When you renew, the new passport expires 10 years from the date it was issued

This came up for us. I believe the issue was not going to Israel but rather being able to re-enter the U.S.
Passports will be good for 10 yrs from date of issue. Except for kids, 5 yrs.
