What are your thoughts on the appropriateness of a play date for a 2.5 yr old on Tisha Bav? Since he needs to be supervised, it is inevitable that the mom and I will chat which takes away from the spirit of the day. On the other hand, not sure how long my two year old will last cramped in the house.

Totally do it...for yours and toddler sanity. My kids are.going to Tisha bav camp today. You need to do what you need.to.do.

I had option of a Tisha bav camp but I hate shuffling him from daycare to daycare, it is a hard adjustment for him. Did not think it would be fair to him just for the day. Maybe I will wait until chatzot for play date.

1. I agree with waiting until chazot. The other thing I might suggest is maybe do a drop off and switch off-you watch the kids for an hour or so, and the other mother does the same. Then there's only one of you around, so you're not chatting as much, and you both get a break.
