In order to prevent things from dripping into oven bottom, I place whatever I'm baking onto a baking sheet or 9x13 to catch any drips. So I have say a bundt pan with cake batter on another pan baking in the oven. Problem is for some reason there's a funny smell. I know pans often come with an oil coating or something (mine are O-u so I think mine doesn't have a coating). Could that be the smell? I turned on oven light and don't see anything smoking. Any idea what the smell can be?

Is it the remains of the oven cleaner burning off when you heat it up? That can cause a wierd nasty smell.
