Pears were on sale for a very cheap price so I bought loads. Does anyone have a nice recipe for me to make with them.

Fruit-filled Cake (very easy and tasty!)

2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. oil
2/3 c. juice (I use watered-down grape juice, since I don't usually have other juice around.)
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder

mix wet, then add dry ingredients.
pour 1/3 batter into a greased 9x 13 pan. Spread out peeled and cut up fruits (can use pears, apples, plums, etc.), add some sugar and cinnamon on top. Then pour the rest of the batter and spread evenly over fruit. bake 35-40 min. or until toothpick comes out clean.

There's an awesome pear recipe in the Bais Yaakov Cookbook - pear cranberry crumble. Really delicious.

Everyone loves this:

Poached pears in wine sauce

In large pan, heat 3 C good burgundy and 1/4 C sugar. Meanwhile, peel, halve, and core ripe pears. Add pears, cover, and cook pears in sauce, turning occasionally, for about 30 min until done.

Remove pears, turn stove to high, add 1/2 C sugar, and boil, stirring frequently, until syrup thickens. Cool and store separately.

Serve each pear with syrup in the hollow.

My 2 cents: Add cinnamon sticks to pan

I have an apple pear crumble recipe. It's like an apple pie but you add some pears (&less apples)

That looks amazing. I can't see the recipe though. Did your guests eat it? I find my guests, more often than not, don't eat pie crusts or fruit items, but chocolate anything flies off my table.

You can use pears pretty much anywhere you use apples.
