Gift for the Boss

My boss's wife had a baby last week.

I have been working here several months now and we are a decent sized office with mostly non-jewish workers (aside for 3 of us).
Should I buy a small gift just myself? Do I ask around to see if everyone wants to chip in? Or is no gift necessary?

This is all assuming no one else initiates (no one has yet, but he has barely been in the office), I have no idea how this works since I have never been in this situation before.
