After several years of staying home, I finished my degree and am slowly starting to look for a part-time job. I'd like to talk with people in the field regarding where they finished their hours toward licensure (in the mental health field). But not sure how to go about it. I don't know anybody personally who has my degree, so this would all be contacting strangers. Do I email them, "hey, where did you do your hours"? Call them up and do it over the phone? Just don't know what words to use.

Are there any online forums for people in your profession? A Facebook group? That would be the best place to start. Also you should join a professional association and attend local meetings.

What about people in your school? Classmates, professors?

Create a LinkedIn profile. You can search for others in your field, classmates, join relevant groups and post in group discussions.
