I hurt my knee. I need an MRI. My MD says he can't order one, I need a sports medicine or ortho or pain dr. they gave me like 12 referrals. NOT ONE actually is taking patients, or isn't taking my insurance anymore, or has a waiting list of 14 months!
This is insane!

dont know if you tried this yet but mrs. Notice is the referral person at chemed. If there is anyone at all who takes UHC she would know. 364-2144
I know that chiropractors send people for x-rays -- maybe mri's too??

Unfortunately, getting a GOOD doctor on UHC is probably not happening. I need ANY doctor though, so it doesn't matter. I know what's wrong. I just need an MRI to confirm it. Welcome to Obamacare people! DIY doctoring cuz the ones who are on your plan are probably not very competent or don't have time to provide competent care.......

I have a cousin who practices sports medicine in Stamford. Don't know if that will help you, but PM me for his name if you need to! I can vouch for him as he is a second-generation orthopedist, the son of one that was well known in the Frum world.

I'm wondering of you ever went to Dr. Reiner or anyone else?
I am also looking for an orthopedist and just found out from echo that there is NO ONE at all who takes jersey care. In addition, it would be illegal for me to offer them payment if I have jersey care (according to echo). So I am stuck. What happened with you Debsey?

Debsey I was told to go to jersey shore hospital bec no one wanted to take me when I hurt my ankle recently. Bh" it healed and I didn't go to get an mri. Would you consider it? Why don't you go to shore imaging? And have your doctor send in to orthopedist?
can you let us know if the doctor you go to is good/decent?
