help! what to do?

my 3 yr old son is a picky eater but has requested things to be packed for school. he did the same thing over the summer at backyard camp. every day it looks promising but then he doesnt touch a thing! maybe a few crackers but thats it.

I ask him why and he said "I dont know" or "I just dont"

and of course he asks for his lunch when we are in the car on the way home... he also wont pish at school but thats a different discussion...

seasoned mothers, any advice?

Give him a good breakfast, pack a lunch that will last ( or put a cool pack in) and let him eat in the car after you pick him up if it's early enough. Otherwise feed him a snack in the car ( cheese sticks, fruit) and early dinner. Peer pressure and a bigger body will make him change his mind eventually so don't sweat it!

My 4 1/2 year old is same. He wont touch food in school & wont use bathroom there either. I give him big breakfast & he wont eat again till 3:00. We've tried everything but nothing so far worked. Frustrating!

I would stop packing things for him except aforementioned crackers unless he told me what's u^p. I just don't is no good answer and I would let him know.

Lunchtime may be too exciting and overstimulating for him. It took years before DD could actually sit down and eat a meal at school without getting too sidetracked by all her friends, the noise, and people walking around.

Just wait until a growth spurt hits, he'll eat you out of house and home!
