Wow thanks for all the replies!
There were some I like but my husband doesn't or some he likes and I don't.

I love Hadassah.
And having gone through the older threads I also love Yael, maya, and shulamit but I don't know sources for these names. Oh and tehilla.

from Wikipedia (and my knowledge Smile)
Yael:is a woman mentioned in the Book of Judges in the Bible, as the heroine who killed Sisera to deliver Israel from the troops of king Jabin. She was the wife of Heber the Kenite.
Maya: maya is short for mayan -- water.
Shulamit: feminine form of "Shlomo", related to the word Shalom

OP again

So maya and shulamit don't have real sources? We don't do feminine or masculine versions of each other.

What about a source for tehilla?

Yael is really growing on me.

Shulamit was actually married to Sholomo HaMelech.
Shulamit comes from the word Shalom which is peace and one of Hashem's names.
The name Shulamit is in shir hashirim I believe.

I'm due within a month and we still haven't found a girl name we like. We have so many boy names we like and to choose from but can't decide on any girl names.

Please give us some ideas.

It will help to know we are sefardi and strongly prefer a source with any suggestion.

The perfect name will come to you. H-Shem grants parents nevu'a to pick the child's name that will suit who they are.

Yes, shir hashirim, 7:1- shuvi shuvi hashulamit
Referring to shulammite woman (some say woman from shalem, yerushalayim; others say from root word complete and whole, referring to the perfect woman.)

The word tehilla, song of praise, can be found numerous times in tehillim, for example, 'tehilla l' dovid')

I have a friend that didnt have a name she liked the whole pregnancy and they decided on a name a couple days before the bris... and it was a name they had said nah to a bunch of times, but when they were reading thru the book again after he was born it was an AHA moment.

sometimes its best to rely on parents ruach hakodesh on meeting the baby.

(on the other hand... I have a cousin who took 3 WEEKS to name her girl. They just. could. not. decide.)
