My Husband and I have a 7 month old baby and we are trying to plan our pilot trip. We would like to go for 6 months - 1 year to try and see if we can make it work before we officially make aliya.
What do people do about health insurance in Israel if you are not a citizen? This is the main area that I am getting stuck!
has anyone done this and can help me out with the planning. TIA!

Harel offers travelers insurance. I'm sure there are other companies that do as well. When I was in seminary, that's what they used.
Ask your current insurance company what would be covered while traveling abroad (the reason shouldn't matter)

Is travel insurance really valid for a whole years worth of travel? I was under the impression that there was a maximum amount of days covered within the year.

There are travel insurance that cover for a full year its just really expensive. The longer you stay the larger your monthly premium (at least the insurances that I looked into). I think the max is 1 year though.
