Soooo...I love pinktichels honey cake recipe. But my DH likes honey cake like his mother makes--the more typical dark, dense type. I've tried making her recipe three years in a row and its flopped every time (rose too much and overflowed and then fell, I think its too much baking soda but she makes it that way and it comes out fine. So I don't know).
Does anyone have a tried and true sticky dark honey cake recipe?

I was going to suggest her recipe because that's what I associate most with the kind of cake you mean.

I believe someone mentioned on that thread that it gets "stickier" after it's frozen. Maybe you can try that. I know it's true for me.

Anyone? Pinktichels honey cake is very light and fluffy and I'm looking for a heavier denser kind of cake.
