We need to have many dead branches removed from a tree in our backyard, and have another smallish dead tree removed. Any idea how much a job like this should cost?
No idea what to expect

It depends on access to the trees, whether there are power wires, how many branches, how high, etc. You should call several tree pruning companies because the quotes can vary widely. Also make sure you are working with a reputable, insured company.

The only data point I can give you is that I paid $250 several years ago for pruning dead branches on a large tree - lots of branches and intertwined with power wire. We just had that tree removed entirely two weeks ago for $600. This is not in NJ but in a comparable metropolitan area.

Thanks for the info. We have a lot of very high branches, and one medium sized dead tree.
Anyone with a comparable job?

I just had two enormous trees pruned to make way for my sukkah. We also had several other trees pruned because they needed to be. We paid $1600 or so. It was a big job. I am in NJ.
