I was wondering, is there anyone here who is a personal trainer? I'm thinking of possibly going into that profession, and I'd appreciate some input from someone in the know. Thanks

call a gym or the school where you want to be trained. my brother looked into it and said it didn't have benefits, but that was a while ago.

I'm not but I have one and I love it. I think it's a great profession because depending on where you are, I think there is a great demand in our community for female trainers. Having someone to motivate and push me to do way more than I would have otherwise is totally necessary. While having a personal trainer is expensive, I feel it's necessary to my physical and emotional help

Sari Zimmerman is a personal trainer. Not yet married, so not on the site. Lives in Crown Heights.

You should just call up a gym and find out what they require in order for someone to do personal training at their gym.

There are several different places that give certification. AFAIK, all you do is purchase the study materials and then take a written test at a testing center (usually on Shabbos), or online at a testing center (more dates are available for the online test). You also need to get certification for CPR.

Check out www.acefitness.org (that's what I'd like to get certified through)

Here's a list of places that give certification:

ETA: I decided on ACE based on what the personal trainers at my gym told me.

Personally, I don't want to do it for the money, I want to do it because I'm passionate about working out and I want to share that love with other people and teach them how to take care of their own bodies.
