I work in a small Kiruv school. (4th and 5th graders)While coming up with lesson plans I am always tempted to do lots of projcets, heres the thing, my principal refuses to pay for it.
she also, says they will "try to pay me back"

They also don't have like a supply closet with things at teachers disposal. Like if I need construction paper I have to beg the Kindergarden teacher.

Should I bother doing projects (parsha, and other things) knowing I won't get the money back?
I spent A LOT of money on this class already and its only October.
My dh is getting annoyed with all this spending.

what do you suggest?

That's what we need to do. I don't like it, but am used to it already. They also charge in the older grades a monthly charge for photocopies. The tuition is not dirt cheap (peso-wise Wink ), so that's not the reason.

For 4th and 5th grade I'd say cut back on the projects and look for more economical alternatives. If you're the type who's creative enough to find 101 uses for colored paper and that's all you need, then go ahead and buy it in bulk to save a little and see if your principal can stretch a bit to cover something that simple. But I'm assuming you're talking about a lot more than just some colored paper. 4th graders don't need to be doing arts n crafts all the time, and with some creativity kids that age can have a lot of fun with projects that don't need to be expensive.
