What is a general feeding schedule for a 6 month old. I EBF but not gaining as much as DR would like bec. I'm low on milk. So would like to feed solids. What can I make? Rice cereals constipate.

I totally forgot the stages since my baby is after a big break.

I give my baby apple sauce and chicken soup puree. What other foods should I be giving at 6 months?
When can they have yogurts? mashed meatballs? eggs? cheerios?

If you're trying to get baby to gain weight, go for high calorie foods: mashed avocado,
pureed chicken broth, pureed meat.

Is the baby dropping in percentiles or just consistently on the lower end?

How many percentiles did he drop? Have you tried to increase your supply at all?

I start with vegetables, some fruit, ricecakes, then any food that's not a choking hazard. Avoid dairy, eggs and honey. I try to keep the sugar away so as not to develop a sweet tooth too early. I would wait like 2 months for yogurt. Don't mash everything, they'd love feeding themselves. Once you start with solids check the diapers to see how well foods are being digested and for consistentcy.

When my youngest was 6 MO I had the same exact this.
I fed my baby everything basically but no dairy and no honey.
Bread, sweet potato, fruit (she didnt like it much), poridge , chicken etc.
I feed very small pieces.
I read a new research which claims you can and should feel your baby whatever you want except for honey.

Too young for dairy and eggs and allergenic-type foods, but you're really safe with fruits, veggies, grains, etc. I would even do Cheerios but 6 months is generally still a little choke-y age for that, so I would say to break your cheerios into quarters until he/she gets used to them. Oatmeal is great (I make baby regular oatmeal, not the baby food type), chicken from the soup, cholent they love. Even potato kugel, cus the consistency is great and the eggs are very cooked in - not like feeding them a scrambled egg...

by my first my dr gave me more rules, but with my now 1yr old my dr told me that new studies (as of may 2013 I think it was) show that just about anything is ok. there is no reason to wait for allergies unless they are known in the family. so pb and fish are all fine from 6mo.

any food that is not a choking hazard is really ok. you can google baby led weaning for ideas of foods that 6mo can handle - you will be surprised.

heres a link to the handout my ped gave me at the 6mo checkup.
