I wear tichels with a bit of hair out in the frontand sometimes in the back too during the week. Shabbos I wear a sheitel.
I feel like the tichel look is getting frumpy. I like how I look in the sheitel but its a bit much for my workplace and not so comfortable for during the week.
I could spend up to about 1000 shekels on a fall or something to make me look and feel more modern and younger....
Any ideas? Or any great ideas of how to do my tichel differently without looking too hippy?

I don't know the scene in Israel, but some might say that if you're leaving hair our in front or the back you're already trending towards a hippier look. Have you checked out Wrapunzel? Some of the looks might work for you.
As far as a fall, maybe. I don't know if your budget's realistic, if not maybe someone can suggest a sheitel resale place.
Hatzlacha!

Have you tried berets, do you like the look and are they comfortable for you? You can get really nice berets appropriate for a professional setting in the 60 shekel range (Im assuming you're in israel).

For a fall, I would agree that trying a sheital gemach or consignment place may be your best bet. Another 'cheap' option is a pony sheital.
