My mother is making a bar mitzvah for my youngest brother and I would like to bring in food for the Shabbos after. Basically I want it to be really relaxing for my mom the Shabbos after the bar mitzvah that she doesn't have to make anything. What are some foods that I can make in advance that are freezable that I can bring along with me when I come in for the bar mitzvah?

Soup - once it cools down freeze it in air tight containers.
Kugel - only if it is wrapped well with no air pockets (to defrost : place covered in oven and then uncover for the last bit)

Cake/cookies, unless you anticipate a lot of bar mitzvah leftovers

What a sweet idea!
Your options depend on how far you have to travel and your method of transportation. Can you give us that info?

This is really sweet!
Do you have any friends or relatives with freezer space in case your mother won't till the last minute?

We need to know how you're traveling. By car is very different than by Greyhound which is very different than by plane.

I find that meatballs and brisket freeze and reheat very well. Also kugels. I know a lot of imamothers have posted yom tov recipes that they cook and freeze in advance. Perhaps try those?

simple pastrami sandwiches or other cold cuts can be really yum warm - along with potatoe salad [need I mention beer ]
then there's no cooking or freezing needed

OP here. Traveling by car. Long drive. Freezer space not an issue. My mom has a large freezer.
