@ Skymile, the Williamsburg toys4u does sell gift cards. They did it for me last yr & I called again today to ck, they said sure they'll do it.

So far I'm dividing my cards to:
Toys4u
Organicer
Peppermill
Maybe eichlers

Can't wait... Let the shopping sprees begin..

They're on new Utrecht by 47th st. They will give u $40 for every $30 swiped & since I heard they're pricey, it totally makes it more worth it to get more money... they also take your cards over the phone if u have more than a couple cards to save U some time.

When I listened to Amex's recording on their line for registering your card, they clearly say that it must be an in-store purchase, not online and not through a third party. You also must get the item at the time of purchase. So I'm not sure that doing it over the phone is legal.

I helped someone run a nonprofit a few years ago and amex had sent us signs that we were eligible for SBS! So don't be so quick to jump down tzedaka throats.
Not every Jewish organization does monkey business. Most are hopefully honest. There are always bad apples in every bunch.
It could also be the nature of the non profit.
Many schools are apparently eligible.
Let's try to judge ppl favorably instead of always assuming they're cheating.
Just my 2 cents.
Have fun at SBS..... I'd love to know what ppl plan to use their credits for!
Hmmmmm a new pair of boots? A new hat for him? Boots for the kids? Maybe a coat? Maybe food! Splurge on a Mani pedi or massage?

A few years ago we were able to use the money to donate to our schools, but the rules have changed.

An in store purchase can be a gift certificate. And people order things all the time over the phone. I do it always. So what's the problem????

Ordering over the phone is not an in store purchase. I called Amex and asked if the credit card must actually be swiped and they said it does have to be swiped. I know a lot of stores are advertising that they will take phone orders, just be advised you may not get your refund.

It is so annoying to get out Sat. night and the stores are always craaaaaazy but I heard you can email DB Electronics sbs@dbelectronics.net and you'll get a confirmation - they'll preregister it for you do the swiping at the right time. That's my plan for this year!
