I have been trying to follow Dina Friedman's method for toilet training but having a hard time. Today is say four and DC is having accidents and only way I can avoid that is if I take DC to the bathroom at regular intervals which is not part of the program.
If you have experience with her program can you offer some advice?

Buy the book toilet training in a day, that's where she takes her method from, and it may give you more in depth details. That said, this is just one method of many, and does not work for every child. It's obviously not working for your child, so it may be time to move on to another method.

I can do mommy training, like I did with my older child. Which means that I take her all the time for the first year.

I don't know anything about this method, but I never had any problem with the non-method of following the child's cues and spending lots of time on the potty until they figure it out. We had a couple of false starts where I realized the child wasn't really ready, but by the time they were ready they basically knew what to do.

Of course I am really lucky that it worked for me, I also think it's a bit of mazel to have kids who understand and are capable; I don't AT ALL believe that parenting is at fault for most toileting issues (though there are exceptions; if a parent uses force and the kid ends up with an issue I absolutely think it was the parent's fault) but I also think that my lack of method contributed to their eventual comfortable and successful training.
