anyone have a good idea for a family outing the Sunday of chanuka? I was thinking of taking the kids snow tubing, but am having a hard time finding a place close enough (to NYC area) that allows little kids (3 yrs) to go. Anyone know of a place that does or have any ideas for a different outing?

There are a few tubing places not too far from NYC - Tuxedo Ridge (near Monsey), and north NJ has one or two. I don't know if they're open yet for the season. They're not as much fun as the ones in the Poconos, but they're much closer. Otherwise, you could try the Palisades Mall ropes course and Billy Beez (in the mall) for the younger kids.

Hershey Park
It is geared toward younger children (anything with hydraulics is closed). It is a lot fun and the price is reasonable.
We love going this time of year, you just need to dress very warm.

Have you checked out Hunter Mountain? Seems like they allow 3 year olds to snow tube/ski-- http://www.huntermtn.com/learning/playcare/ http://www.trekaroo.com/activi.....-york
